35-year meditation practitioner. Or as one of my teachers says, “failing at meditation” for over 30 years (since I’ve yet to arrive at omniscience, or anything close).
23-year DAILY meditation practitioner. That’s how it goes!
Practicing phenomenologist. And formally trained in it.
Qigong practitioner. Been doing this one for over 30 years also. While I’ve learned many styles, I only practice Zhan Zhuang at this point.
Trained as a life coach through the Martha Beck Life Coach Training Program. The title of “life coach” is a bit misleading, I feel. All experience occurs in mind, or consciousness, so one examines the mind. Life can then take care of itself. It does a better job of it than any of us anyways.
I do have a PhD, and used to teach math & mathematics education at a university somewhere. I put that here for people who value such things. I also happen to think there’s some value in it. It shows that I can focus and dedicate myself to something for an extended period of time, and that I enjoy attempting to do things that feel difficult or impossible at the time, which means that if that describes you, I’ll likely understand your struggles as you likely understand mine.
Some client reviews:
“I was not looking for a coach (I didn’t believe in ‘coaches’) but I was definitely searching for something that would help me circumvent a deep sense of dissatisfaction in life. Working with Yuichi has been a life changing experience. I have found greater balance in life, a way to live with more integrity and purpose, I’m better able to speak my truth to myself and others, I feel more apt to handle my (at times overwhelming) emotions, and almost all my relationships have improved ten-fold.
The change is noticeable not only to myself, but others too, as my friends and family tell me how different I am now. So much so, that now they reach out to me for advice as well. This is a great source of joy in my life, as I can see and feel how what I have learnt from Yuichi has had a ripple effect, helping others in my life as well.
Yuichi supported my journey through some very difficult life events. The loss my father, unemployment, the ending of a relationship, even a miscarriage. Always with compassion but with great insight and wisdom, he helped me see the lessons that life was giving me, and now that I look back I find only gratitude for those difficulties. There is no issue too small or too big for Yuichi.
What I can say is that I have never left a session without getting some kind of answer, revelation or deep personal truth.
Yuichi also encouraged me to establish a daily meditation practice, and this has made all the difference for me. I highly doubt I would have been able to maintain my commitment to that daily practice for almost 4 years now, without his guidance and support. Most of all, he has helped me see the value of having such practice, something I am grateful for every single day. Thank you so much Yuichi!”

“Even though Yuichi is the first and only coach I’ve worked with, I know for me I’ve hit the jackpot! Maybe transformational coach is a more apt title for him. Or maybe alignment-with-self coach?
His ability to get to the heart of the matter through all my tangential rants and blatherings feels startling at times but that signals to me I’m recognizing some buried personal truths.
And that’s what he does, helps you find your way back home to yourself. I feel so very lucky to have met such a wise, kind and generous spirit for support and guidance on this journey. It’s been pivotal for me, thank you Yuichi! 🙏”

“Yuichi coaches with a powerful message: Move towards what brings you peace and trust that the universe will deliver.
When I began with him, I was a dreamer. I dreamed mostly of creating: creating music, creating art, creating memories, and creating my own businesses. I wasn’t taking any actions to realize these dreams, though. Instead, I was drenched in anxiety, fearful of what, I don’t know, but I definitely wasn’t ‘living the dream.’
... As I write this today, I find myself taking action... Despite some intimidating life changes (part of the action I took), I have this intuition that everything is going to be alright, and to stay on course.
I will forever be indebted to Yuichi... He moved me from feeling stuck, to a place of infinite possibilities. Not bad!"— Zak K., Chico, CA
